Lukes Half Marathon

Luke was unable to run the Horsetooth Half Marathon with me last year because of stress fractures. So they extended his entrance fee to this year.

Thankfully, this year was a much more beautiful day than last years race! The kids and I showed up early and got to see the winners cross the finish line. Luke had his own cheering squad when he crossed the finish line:

After the race we got to hang out at New Belgium for the post race party.

It was a long day for Josie!

We stayed at New Belgium way past the event closing. The kids ended up cleaning the trash from the event and New Belgium gave us a case of beer

So we took the kids out for ice cream...

Easter

We were lucky enough to enjoy another beautiful Easter! On Saturday we took the kids to City Park for a community Easter event. The kids had a blast doing all the games. Josie was just happy with her candy

Jack and Lily were thrilled to see the Easter bunny. I couldn't get Josie to get near him/her!

This was a huge event and they had 20,000 eggs for the kids. Each age range had its own section of eggs. This was the section for 1-2 year olds:

It was so hard to keep the little ones away from the eggs! And then when they finally did the count down, it was a mad dash and all the eggs were gone in less than 2 minutes.

Lily was in the 4-5 year old group and i wasn't able to see her once the countdown happened. However, I did see her in the newspaper later that day!

After the craziness of that Easter event, we headed across the street to let the boys fish. It was a lucky day for Jack and he caught many fish!

On Sunday, we woke up super early to go to the 7:00am Easter service. Afterwards we hid some eggs in our backyard

Our neighbor (Lee) joined in the egg hunt with us

Then we had plans to go with friends to go to a brewery for an adult egg hunt. It was so unbelievably crowded that we wanted to just leave. But we stuck it out and it turns out that adults are worse than kids at egg hunts. So many adults stole the eggs before the allowed time. And there were so many people there that there was really no way for us to even compete.

My parents had the smarter idea to go to a brewery with no Easter events

After the brewery, we all came back to our house for Easter dinner. We got to try out our new game "Spikeball"

And it was so hot that the kids even made themselves a little pool

Springtime!

Springtime in Colorado!

Enjoying beautiful days on the trail

It is a 4 mile ride to Dairy Queen and the kids are more than happy to ride their bikes for the (8 mile roundtrip) trip

There is a park right near Dairy Queen that the kids like to play on before the LONG ride home

The kids love when it hails

Lily's best friend had a tea party birthday
I think Lily enjoyed being served a bit too much

Some days we are too busy to give Josie a nap. These are the days she usually falls asleep on the stairs

Another beautiful day on the trail. The snakes come out on the warm days

Their is a farm right on the trail so the kids like to visit with the horse

More hail!

Lily lost her first tooth

Lily's best friend and her brother both came over for a sleepover:

And Josie got to go to the museum with her little friend

Here is a cute picture from the Father-Daughter dance earlier this year, but we just got this picture in the mail this week.

Denver Zoo

The kids had a day off school so we went with some friends down to the Denver Zoo

One of the highlights of the day was feeding the birds. The kids each got a small cup of food and the birds would eat right out of their hands

Another favorite were the monkeys:

The whole gang of kids:
 Jack and Sam

Josie and her new pouting pose

The kids walked all day long. By the end of the day they were so tired that it was hard to pull them off this rock

But it was a beautiful day at the zoo and so much fun.
