Made it to March!

March was a great month! We were all feeling better, the weather started getting better and we were finally able to enjoy some fun family days.

A favorite place of ours is Fort Fun. Jack and Luke love to mini golf while Lily and I walk around and play games

Fort Fun also has an awesome slide.
Lily was able to go down all by herself and although she was scared at first, she loved it and we could have spent all day at the slide

With the nice weather, we have been out on our trail again riding bikes and going for walks.

Over Spring break we had a few fun days. Jack came to Lily's gymnastics studio and was able to play on the equipment:

I took the kids to a nearby indoor pool

We spent many hours at the parks

 and playing outside:

and playing inside
 Jack started soccer again

We went on our first real hike of the season. It was to Horsetooth Falls and was a little over 2.5 miles and both kids did a great job!

I am so excited for Spring to be here! Colorado is a beautiful place to live and I can't wait to get outdoors more.

Videos from Jack's School

I love Jack's school. I am amazed every time I get to walk by a classroom and hear kids speaking in so many languages!

Almost there...February pictures and video

We made a trip to the Museum of Nature and Science in Denver. The kids had a great time checking out the dinosaurs...

petting snakes...
and visiting with the rest of the museum.
We made it home in time to watch the Superbowl

We also battled a super freeze. Weeks and weeks of sub zero temperatures. The only time we were outside was the time it took to run to the car which had to be preheated for at least 15 minutes. It was miserable.

Jack got his second cast off in February.

We were surprised with a beautiful sunny day and made the trip up to Boulder to enjoy it

We spent another freezing day inside the CSU campus where they were hosting a physics open house. We spent a while building little devices to see if we could get them to stay in the wind tunnel.
The best part of the day was when we went to a demonstration on how to make ice cream with liquid nitrogen. Everyone got to taste some at the end and it tasted just like dippin' dots.

In other news, since Jack is at kindergarten three days a week I have finally been able to enroll Lily in some classes just for her. Right now she takes gymnastics and dance. She loves both...but I can already tell she is a little dancer...

Lily will dance to any music. Even music from books...

Also in February Jack's french class hosted an international assembly at school celebrating France.

Can you tell they love each other?
Jack's class also performed a short dance in front of the school:

Getting caught up...January pictures

January was the month of sicknesses. You can read about it in my post from January. It was a nightmare. A couple things of interest did happen:

We made a fort from all of the Christmas boxes we had gathered

Jack broke his elbow
Got his first cast

Then Lily broke her nose. Well, we don't have the official diagnosis of broken nose from a doctor yet, but seeing as she still has a definite bump and mark I think we will find out it is/was broken at her next appointment.

We took a ski trip to Winter Park with my parents. The kids loved riding in the wagons
Jack couldn't take lessons because of his broken elbow, so he and Lily went in the day care for a whole day while Luke and I took ski lessons together. It was a blast! First time skiing with Luke in over 5 years.

One day we took the kids sledding. You can't really tell by this picture but this was a HUGE hill. Not even sure it was safe for Luke to take the kids. But they loved it anyways.
2 weeks after his first cast, Jack got the cast off and had his arm re-exrayed. It was still broken so he chose red for his next cast and had to wear that for another 3 weeks.

I took this picture of me and Lily and it brought back memories from when she was a tiny baby who would only sleep in my arms

Lily 2 months

and speaking of babies... we also got a surprise this month...
