Fall races

The kids finished the last two races in their run series this month. One of them was the Halloween run. Jack ran with his friend Shelbie. Lily smoked them all running the entire mile non-stop in 10 minutes 30 seconds. It was amazing to see.
Afterwards the kids all enjoyed their free ice cream:

And then they moved on to the free bouncy houses.

At first Lily was a little scared:

But then it was pure joy!

They had another bounce house which didn't seem to be as fun:

Lily didn't seem phased by the awful landing. Jack didn't do much better making it out...
Here are the kids before the last race at the University.

Both Jack and Lily ran the entire race (.8 mile) without stopping and under 8 minutes. Here they are after the race.
I am still running with the girls. I have moved them from my rickety double stroller to my easier to maneuver chariot. It's not as comfortable for them but Josie still has no problem sleeping.
Even Lily has started taking naps during the afternoon runs.
If Josie fusses at all during the run, Lily will sing to her and cuddle with her until she falls asleep. I always love peeking in and seeing them together. Here they are sleeping while holding hands.
Luke and I signed up for a Tortoise and Hare fall/winter race series. It is a staggered race so the slower runners start first and the fastest runners start last. The first race was this month and then there is one race per month through the winter. Luke had to push both girls

I had to push Jack. Man, he is heavy!!

It is a great way to keep us running through the winter!
