Tuesday we had a family photo shoot scheduled. It took lots of planning to get everyone outfits together and we had an hour with the photographers to try and get some perfect shots. The kids lasted about 40 minutes and as soon as we tried to get some pictures by the water it was over. Both kids ended up in the water and then covered with sand. At first I was really mad, but then I realized this is my life and we had the photographer take pictures of these crazy kids covered in sand. Here we are by the end of the photo shoot trying to walk back home
Wednesday Luke, Jack and Grandma Dian woke up early for a 5am half day fishing trip. It wasn't as successful as the twilight trip, but they still had fun. Apparently Luke left an open tab on the fishing boat for them to buy food and drinks. Unbeknownst to him, Jack was racking up quite the charges with snacks, candy and sodas. When Luke went to close the tab after the 4 hour trip, the bill was over $45! Jack had been pigging out on candy and soda while Luke was distracted with fishing.
After they got back home we headed to a nearby park to play with the kids.
After the park we headed back to the house for some pool time:
At one point we made a trip to Walmart and Lily spied a gray tank top for me that matched one she had. She begged me to get it so we could have matching outfits. As soon as we got home she wanted to take pictures of our outfits...and matching poses
Jack wanted in the pictures too so he got some kisses
Speaking of kisses, here are Josie's open mouth kisses
And her "kissy face" that she loves to make
Thursday we headed out to try to find tide pools again. This time we left early in the morning so we would make low tide. We ended up going to the Dana Point Ocean Institute and found some tide pools down on the beach.
The kids had a blast finding sea anemones and crabs
After exploring the tide pools we headed back to the Ocean Institute to explore. They had a little play area for the kids
Josie and her kissy face
They also had an interactive tour of the facility where the kids got to learn how to raise a sail, amongst other things
