Vacation Part 3: Big Bear

Friday we had to say goodbye to the beach and head for the mountains. We got up to Big Bear in the afternoon and had time to get settled into my Aunt Kristi's house. We walked down to the boat dock to check out their boat and let Jack do some fishing before bed.

Saturday morning we hung out around the house. Here is Lily posing the backyard

There is also a separate shed where Luke and my Grandpa spent the morning cutting some wood:

In the late morning we headed over to the alpine slides with the kids. It was a blast!

And the biggest surprise of the weekend was running into our friends Gabe and Lynne up at the Alpine Slides. Gabe was the best man at our wedding. It was so nice to see them
Gabe and Lynne have a son a little older than Jack so the kids were all able to play together and once they got tired of the alpine slides, they moved to the water slides and had even more fun
Meanwhile, back at the Big Bear house Farrell was cooking his famous ribs for the whole gang. Here are three crockpots full of ribs:

Timmy and Megan

Saturday evening we went on the Pirate Ship cruise around Big Bear Lake.
It was pretty fun and all three kids slept some part of the boat ride.
Papa brought his Chris Craft out and cruised next to us on the pirate boat

When we got back from the pirate cruise, dinner was ready!

 Farrell's ribs were amazing

My mom brought up a cake to celebrate mine & Luke's 11 year anniversary
She even surprised us by bringing our wedding video and we all sat down to watch it with champagne. Good memories...
Sunday morning we hung out around the house for a while. Luke took Jack fishing with Farrell on the boat and Gabe and Sean joined them. Meanwhile, I hung back with the girls at the house. Here is Josie posing
 And doing kissy face
We had both girls take a picture on top of Papa's new boat that is named after them

Then it was time to head back down the mountain. Jack had to say by to his buddy Pumpkin
We drove down the mountain and went to my grandparent's house to let the kids swim for a while before dinner

My cousin Acacia stopped by to visit

Lily discovered my old cabbage patch doll that Mema has kept all these years
Sunday night we met up for dinner with the whole family
